I decided today to cover the Erewash Field. This is an area of scrub away from the maddening crowd. I had seen reports that Jack Snipe were regularly spotted. How anyone has seen one there I'll never know. All I can imagine is that they must see them land in the place and then have to creep up on them. Still it was nice to explore and practice my stalking technique. :-
MEADOW PIPIT*, and that was it, no Jack Snipe but I was happy.
Back at the ponds the usual.
