Leighton Moss
You may ask why we are on the west coast? We have been invited to stay with friends in the Lakes for a few days, so decided to call here on the way up. Its a busy place, well run with 5star hides. The reed beds here are the largest in the north of the country. You could spend the whole day here, we only had a few hours. When we had covered most of the reedbed we drove round to the hides overlooking the bay, one of which is named after the famous comedian from that neck of the woods, Eric Morecombe. The appearance of a few deer from the main veiwing centre made up for the lack of birds there.:-
Little Egret, Marsh Harrier, Redshank, Greenshank, GBBG, Blacktailed Godwit, Lapwing, Usual.
