5th April '08 North Cave Wetlands

Very cold, windy, cloudy

North Cave Wetlands

Just off the M62 if you are heading for the Yorkshire coast further north as we do regularly, then its a handy place to call in. There's a little cafe there run by very friendly Yorkshire gals, who serve up a real welcome snack, especially at this time of year. The site is a fairly new reclaimed sand quarry, and there are newer workings nearby. There are 3 hides covering nearly all of the ponds. There are feeder stations, but these appear to have been neglected of late. :-
