21st January '09 Attenborough Nature Reserve

Sunny, cloud later, cold breeze.

Attenborough Nature Reserve

This was the first time I'd seen a Buzzard actually not flying. It was on the other side of the field perched on top of a small tree. Now and again it would sweep to the grass presumably for worms. It was constantly being harassed by crows.
Rugby ground area:-

Stonechat, Goldfinch, Wren, Buzzard.
The Mandarin was found with the same gang of Mallards as the Red Crested Pochard hangs out with, in the carpark area of the pond. I didn't have my camera with me, but fortunately I'd just met John Farrell who gladly provided the picture displayed on the blog.
The Reserve:-

MANDARIN*, Bullfinch, Fieldfare, Redwing, Mistle Thrush, Goosander, Teal, Shoveler, Gadwall, Red Crested Pochard.
