Cold, low cloud.
Salisbury Street.
I was walking back from the library with my grandson, Edward, and as I turned into Salisbury Street I could see birds in the trees half way along that looked out of place. As I got nearer I could feel my heart beginning to pick up pace. Yes, Waxwings! My tentative approach turned at once into a full blooded gallop. I only live round the next corner and I needed my goggles and camera, quick. My neighbours must have thought I'd just returned from a faith healers gathering and had my arthritis fixed. Nanoseconds before I decided to dash for it, it had occurred to me to abandon the buggy, to save time. Then I thought better of it. Becky wouldn't be pleased! I got my pictures, not good ones but when you blow them up you can tell what they are. When I went by that evening there must have been at least 100 roosting in the elms behind the buildings.:-
