Blacktoft Sands
Don't get excited, most of those are Teal.
Its been a while since our last visit here, a time when warblers sang as we moved from hide to hide. This is the time, weather permitting when anything can turn up. A quick checkin at the centre told us not on this occassion there hasn't. We've been birding long enough now, two years almost, to know that whats on the sightings board is what you'll get. Still all in all we had a good visit. The next one will be even better as the other dickie bird will officially be an old boiler and that means a quid less to get in the place!
This was one of the top ponds thats now a dust bowl.
Blacktailed Godwit, Snipe, Redshank, Dunlin, Teal, Pinkfooted Goose, Avocet, Shoveler, Wigeon, Shelduck, Marsh Harrier.
