Sunny, moderate cold wind.
Erewash Meadow
I can't believe places like this exsist. I suppose the sun played a part in brightening up what is already a beautiful place. And hardly a soul about to share it with. We parked at the Stoneyford Inn and headed north past the kennels. The view across to Brinsley Flash is particularly lovely. On the other side of the path at this point is Sidings Wood. This is definitely worth further investigation on the next trip. We continued up to the embankment and looking back over the marshes had our lunch on the well placed form. The path does continue north alongside the Cromford Canal, but we still had a let to do, so retraced our tracks back to the kennels and then headed southwards. Following the Erewash south ultimately brings you overlooking Spoonbill Pond and then finishing at the feeding station off Stoney Lane.
