2nd April '08 Tophill Low

Breezy and sunny

Tophill Low

This is a designated reserve primarily for birders and the like. A lovely place tucked out of the way but a plesent easy drive. There are plenty of hides covering different habitats and not a dog in sight. The visitor centre is good, the warden dead helpful and there are nice toilets. Be aware though on some days the centre is closed and the hides may only be available to the local bird group. You'll have to check before leaving to avoid disappointment.:-
CURLEW*, CHIFFCHAFF*, LITTLE RINGED PLOVER*, REDSHANK*, Sandmartin, Goldeneye, Shoveler, Gadwall, Teal, Wigeon, Little Grebe, Pochard, Shelduck, Reed Bunting,
Usual, I will use this term in the future to mean all those birds we usually expect to find. For instance our dear friend the robin.
