7th February '09 Nottingham Canal

Cold, cloudy, snow underfoot.

Nottingham Canal.

We parked at the Cossall car park and headed back along whats left of the canal to Trowell. The weather was not suitable for sightings as being a former canal the path is hemmed in on both sides, thus reducing the light of what was already a dull day. And one spent a lot of the time looking for good footholds on the ice. There was nothing to get excited about until we reached Trowell. Just beyond the underpass and in the first field on the right were grazing fieldfare and redwing. And on the return we saw in the distance of another field of grazing cattle, Lapwings. ,
So that was it.

Fieldfare, Redwing, Lapwing, Usual.
