Nottingham Canal
Looking towards Cossall.
Since the other little dickie bird had not done this part of the canal and with it being such a nice day we had a delightful walk taking in beautiful views. A lot of canal walks can be fairly monotous at times when you have constant straight runs ahead. A bit like walking on those disused railway tracks. Well not on this route you don't, thats what makes it so nice. The entire stretch twists and turns with each turn offering a different view from the last one. We saw Meadow Pipits where I saw them the last time I came. And on the otherside of the hedge that we were against we found Yellowhammers and Chiffchaff at the same point. A real hotspot to be sure!
In places the canal almost disappears due to infill and mining subsidence.
Chaffinch, Chiffchaff, Skylark, Meadow Pipit, Yellowhammer, Wren.
