Skipwith Common
This is our second visit here. Although we saw very little on that occasion we loved the place for its outstanding scenary. Well as I said the sightings were meagre on that last occasion, on this we saw bugger all! A solitary Robin came to see us. But as you can see from the pictures there is far more to see. Check out the last picture for instance.
One of the ponds believed to be infill following the removal of peat years ago.
Now if like me you can't walk too far without having to go into the bushes, beware. I'd just finished when I happened to notice I'd wet half my shoe. And something caught my eye as it slithered between my legs. You've probably already seen the picture I know. Yes an Adder. The other Dickie Bird had had one earlier. Can you imagine if it had slid into her knicks as she relieved herself? I've sucked bee stings out of my hands before but thats as far as it goes!
The Adder.
Robin.
