A relaxing day fishing.

It was forecast that today would be the hottest of the year. If I'd have thought about where I was going to go, I wouldn't have come here. It was blistering hot and amongst all the low scrub there wasn't enough shade for a squirrel. And because of the extent of the scrub there was no benefit from what breeze there was. Since I didn't see a deal on the last visit here, I decided to put to the test, my bird song and call identifications that I 've been trying to learn since god knows when. Going round the site I felt like Inspector Clouseau as I hopped from the shade of one shrub to the next. After successfully identifying a Willow Warbler by sound alone, I confirmed it when I finally found it amongst thick scrub. After that success I was hearing them in every other bush almost! Finally I recognised the song of a Garden Warbler and when it appeared in my goggles to confirm it, I was overjoyed. Doesn't take a deal to satisfy me!

Aren't they lovely?

Whitethroat, Willow Warbler, Garden Warbler, Swallow.
