Hudson Way Natre Reserve.
The carpark is barely a few hundred yards along the rail track from the Kiplingcotes Chalk Pit Reserve carpark. It is sited at the Kiplingcotes railway station itself, the buildings now used for residential purposes. The platforms are still recognisable and the old signal box looks like its had a good facelift. This is not a nature reserve in the usual sense. It is merely the area within the confines of the dismantled railway.

We took the trail heading back to the chalk pit. I still had some unfinished business there regarding photographs, remember? The walk turned up the usual flocks of Linnets and Goldfinch. There was no sign of the Green Woodpecker this time. But the old man and his dogs were still using the reserve as a doggy playground. I had mailed the YWT after our last visit but had no reply, so I assume its fine to let your dogs use their sites as a toilet.
From Kiplingcotes Pit looking towards Goodmanham.
