Holt Country Park
Birdseye view from the tower.
This is our rest stop on the way to Bacton. After a 5 hour ordeal eastwards on what must be the most horrendous road in the world I don't think my brain will react to anything going faster than 12mph, so that rules out spotting the most docile of bird. Anyway this is a lovely park and well worth a look. There are toilets and a visitor centre which is opened at restricted times. The wood comprises a mixture of tree types, a small pond and a variety of interesting features to keep the kids indulged. There are several routes, all colour coded and very well posted, with good paths. A tower along one, offers lovely views across a delightful heath and you really are amongst the birds with your head in the tree tops. Most woods at this time of year don't throw up many birds and this one seemed to be the exception. It didn't throw up any! These two are supposed to be having a tug of war. Right.
