Attenborough Nature Reserve.
I made a mess of this one.
I'd decided not to publish a blog after each little soirree to the regular haunts. I will have to face the consequences of the mass protests, as my army of fans wurldwide take to the streets, when it comes! But as I had a good day today I thought I should record it properly seeing as how lately there's not been much to shout about. Locally at any rate. I was particularly delighted to see a couple of Chiffchaffs, one of which was a juvenile. I think of all the birds the warblers are my favourite. Then I had a sighting of a Water Rail for the few seconds it took to leave open water for the cover of the reed beds. This was then followed later by the sighting of a Jack Snipe, courtesy of fellow birders with their scopes. If anybody out there no longer needs theirs and wants them to go to a good home, and feels sorry for me, get in touch.
Looking from a trail across the River Trent towards Clifton.
Chiffchaff, Common Snipe, Jack Snipe, Blacktailed Godwit, Greenshank, Kingfisher, Water Rail, Teal, Shoveler, Gadwall, Greylag.
