20th November '08 Attenborough Nature Reserve

Cold, windy and overcast.

Attenborough Nature Reserve

I went with my brother Phil today. He is the one responsible for me being obsessed with this whole business. Not to mention my sisters and George of course. And Margaret! All forking out vast fortunes not only feeding them but for the optic stuff to look at them. And that is only the half of it. Right now, about that Bittern. We finally ended up in the hide. Had half an hour and no sightings as you do. As the light was fading fast we decided to call it a day. As I was locking up Phil shouted out from the side viewing screens. I got there just as the Bittern made a final stride into the reeds. Still it was a first sighting for Phil and he was happy.

Bittern, Goosander, Shoveler, Wigeon, Gadwall, Sparrowhawk, Usual.
