14th February '09 Bestwood Country Park

Cold, low cloud.

Bestwood Country Park

We parked at the Winding House car park. As with any park within walking distance of a housing complex there is going to be a problem with dog mess. This park is no exception. The first couple of hundred yards are the worst, especially as on this occassion you have to venture off trail. Within that distance we had spotted some Yellowhammers and to get a better view had to leave the path. It was like threading your way through a minefield, not of mines, but piles of dog pooh! Back on the trail we enjoyed a lovely walk. Apart from the many tits and Chaffinchs, we saw surprisingly little.

Yellowhammer, Goldcrest, Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Bluetit, Great Tit.
