Cold, some sun, slight wind.
Beeston Rugby fields-Trent
I popped down for an hour to check on the Stonechats. I decided to cover the first field after the rugby club to make sure they hadn't moved. What a stroke of luck when within minutes of entering the scrub, there perched on high, a female Stonechat. Thats the first sighting since the snowfalls in January! After sweeping both fields I found no trace of the male. Normally they are very close to each other and I've rarely seen them more than a few yards apart. Lets hope there's a male about and we can see a breeding pair there.
