10th April '09 North Cave Wetlands

Cold, rain, slight breeze

North Cave Wetlands

Looking towards the first hide from the carpark.

Although the weather was wretched as you would expect for a Bank Holiday, we got off to a great start having wolved down delicious sausage and tomatoe cobs. The mood continued with plenty of good sightings. First Siskins were on the feeders, Avocets were back, Snipe were active and we were rewarded for out vigilance with a Willow Warbler just as we were running out of shrubs. Get yourselves down here!

Where is that Kingfisher?

Avocet, Siskin, Lapwing, Teal, Pochard, Gadwall, Redshank, Ringed Plover, Common Snipe, Jack Snipe*, Oyster Catcher, Shelduck, Great Crested Grebe, Red Legged Partridge, Skylark, Chaffinch, Wren, Willow Warbler, Sand Martin.
