Another beautiful day, marred only by the feckless cyclists who terrrorise walkers like me, who are hard of hearing. One looney tried to pass me where the path narrowed to the width of his handlebars. He rang his bell just as he swerved into the undergrowth. Unfortunately he managed to extricate himself and went off muttering something. The next incidence occurred only a few minutes further up the path. A young lass had just passed and entered a chicane where a gate was. Her companion followed . I saw him complete the obstacle and wondered why she hadn't. As I approached I found out why. She'd driven into a deep ditch!

And there's more. I particularly get peed off with the ones that ride right up behind you at speed, tinkle their little bells and leave you recovering from a mild cardiac arrest. "You bastards", I shouted, as they sped off beyond a blanket of dust and flying gravel. And finally the little twerp who nearly ran me down at 50mph. Judging by the way he turned his helmet I think he heard me as I went into the mother of all 'path rages'. But all that aside I had a great day. The Garden Warbler in particular was well worth being run over for!
