Wilwell Farm Cutting
This is a pretty little site only a stones throw away from a neat, modern estate and a busy A52. A lot of work has been done recently to improve both the habitat and access around the reserve by NWT. And a good job they've made of it too. We did the circular route on entering the reserve , in a clockwise direction. The initial path is along the higher reaches of the cutting through a mixture of rough scrub and mature trees. Below is marsh. On reaching the old track at the southernmost end the path heads north between an avenue of Beechings beeches. For such a neat little site there is a good diversity of habitat. We're looking forward to returning in a week or two to see what warblers feel likewise.
